Tweedside Modern Tartan. Tweedside Modern is a dark black-based tartan with bright red checks. Tweedside indicates the drainage of the River Tweed, the largest watershed of Scotland, rising at Tweed's Well near Moffat, the river runs through Peebles, Melrose, and Kelso. From Carham, the Tweed forms the border between Scotland and England, reaching the sea at Berwick-on-Tweed.
