Paisley Ancient Tartan. Paisley Ancient is an energetic tartan with shades of blue, green and red. A town in Scotland situated in west central Lowlands of Scotland, this tartan was designed by Allan C. Drennan in 1952. It won a first prize at Kelso Highland Show as the Paisley district tartan. The designer worked for Anchor Mills in Paisley. It has since also come to be regarded as a family tartan for those of the name Paisley.
