Murray of Atholl Modern Heavyweight Tartan is a classic dark green and navy based tartan with black and red overchecks.

In 1606 the 12th Chief of Tullibardine became an Earl and his son became Earl of Atholl in 1629. The Marquess of Tullibardine led a contingent of Murrays to the standard of Prince Charles, and Lord George Murray became the leading general of the Jacobite army. The Murrays were powerful and had many important branches.
