MacDonald or Ardnamurchan Modern is an red-based tartan with black and yellow overchecks. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

The founder of this Clan was "John the Bold", who was the third son of Angus More of Islay. John was sent to clear the Norwegian settlers from Ardnamurchan in 1270. John's descendants held these territories for as much as 340 years and during this time exerted considerable influence in the Western Isles.
