MacAlpine Modern Lightweight Tartan is a traditional dark green-based tartan with shades of blue and yellow. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

The Clan, usually called "Soil Ailpein," was the name given to several clans claiming Royal descent. King Alpine, who was murdered after defeating the Picts in 834, is claimed as the ancestor of the MacAlpine clans. Be this as it may, the name Alpine is an ancient one in Scottish history.
