Johnstone Ancient Tartan. Johnstone Ancient is a bright green and blue-based tartan with a vibrant yellow check. Clan Johnstone was once one of the most powerful of the Border Reiver Scottish clans. Originally settled in Annandale and for over six hundred years they help extensive possessions in the weft of the Scottish Marches, where they kept watch against the English.
