Hunter Modern Tartan. Hunter Modern is a traditional green-based tartan with shades of green, bright red and a white overcheck. Woven in 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products and accessories. Hunter is a common name throughout Scotland and derived from the hunt and in old documents is given as Venator. Found in the Highlands and Lowlands in the 11th and 12th centuries, it is impossible to trace a common ancestor for this clan.
