Gunn Modern is a classic green and blue-based tartan with a red check. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

Caithness and Sutherland was the home of the Gunns, for whom a Norse origin is claimed. They were frequently engaged in clan warfare and did battle with the Keiths, MacKays and Sutherlands. This was said to be the result of the Keiths kidnapping the daughter of Gunn of Breamor in the fifteenth century who took her own life rather than submit.
