Bohemia Design Folklore Votive Swan

Inspired by milagro ‘miracle’ votives, our collection of embossed metal decorations are crafted to bespoke illustrations inspired by Celtic folklore and nature. These decorative charms can be seen as a source of good luck and protection in the way that many cultures have used votive symbols in their homes and holy places over the centuries.

Swans feature in many folkloric tales. In Celtic mythology they symbolise light, purity and divinity, and Celtic goddesses were often depicted as swans. The swan was viewed as a sacred creature by bards who would use their skin and feathers to make ceremonial cloaks.

Hang the votives individually or in groups from the ring attachment on the reverse, or add a velvet ribbon or colourful thread for an extra touch of magic.
