X-Head Cylinder Guards provide wide coverage in a tough, 5mm thick stylish shape that protects the vulnerable magnesium valve covers of R1200 hexhead engines.  When a bike is dropped, even at a standstill, a cylinder first hits the ground at its front corner, then rolls onto its face before settling back down on the lower edge. The wide coverage X-Head design protects both the valve and spark plug covers. Openings in the face are designed-in to provide air flow over the valve cover, while the molded-in texture at the bottom will help hide minor abrasion.

X-Heads are molded in a high temperature resistant nylon and installation takes five minutes - slightly longer on RT’s - with included stainless steel bolts. The bolt threads are coated with Nyloc thread locking patch to keep the bolts from loosening.

If your crash bars have had an impact, check that there is still a minimum of 15mm clearance between the crash bars and the X-Heads.
