Turnbull Dress Modern Tartan. Turnbull Dress Modern is a colourful red-based tartan with shades of green. The Turnbull Clan Association was formed in Hawick in the late 1970s and has gathered members throughout the world. In 1978 the Association produced two tartans. The clans' tartans have been created through a marriage of the Douglas and Bruce tartans, which both have much to do with the history of the Turnbulls.
