Lochcarron Of Scotland The Grant 1714 Tartan Reiver Bow Tie

The Grant 1714 Tartan Bow Tie is a muted green and red based tartan with blue and black overchecks. It is made here at our mill in Selkirk, Scotland with the highest quality Pure New Wool.  The picture of sartorial cool, this bow tie will look equally dapper worn with a full kilt outfit or a more pared down jeans look.  Also we can make you a matching pocket square. The neck strap fastens at the side with a latch and is fully adjustable. Match your tie to your tartan kilt or trews for a traditional, but stylish approach to your formal wear.

This historical tartan is derived from Richard Waitt's portraits of the Laird of Grant's Piper and Champion in 1714, both of which can be seen in the National Gallery in Edinburgh. This historic tartan is one of the earliest tartans on record predating the Battle of Culloden 1745 and the later 19th century tartans and is believed to be the only historic early 18th century tartan to have been re-created and registered by a Clan Chief.
