Lochcarron Of Scotland The Grant 1714 Tartan Braeriach Medium Weight Fabric

Braeriach 13oz Tartan Fabric, sold by the metre.

The Grant 1714 Tartan Braeriach Medium Weight Fabric is a muted green and red based tartan with blue and black overchecks. Made here at our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

This historical tartan is derived from Richard Waitt's portraits of the Laird of Grant's Piper and Champion in 1714, both of which can be seen in the National Gallery in Edinburgh. This historic tartan is one of the earliest tartans on record predating the Battle of Culloden 1745 and the later 19th century tartans and is believed to be the only historic early 18th century tartan to have been re-created and registered by a Clan Chief. If you would like to read more about this tartan, check out Our Journal.

This collection comprises of a neck tie, bow tie, lightweight scarf, ladies sash, cushion cover and 3 weights of fabric.  If you would like other products made in these tartans please browse our Clothing and Interiors Made to Order categories.
