Lochcarron Of Scotland The Grant 1714 Reiver Lightweight Tartan Scarf

These tartan scarves are made from our lightweight (Reiver 10 oz.) tartan fabric. A great lightweight alternative to the lambswool scarf. Also can be used as a celebration bow which is an ideal finishing touch decoration for your home or a special occasion like a Ceilidh, Burns Supper, or any festive family gathering or a Wedding.  Also you can attach to a table arrangement, on a chair, fireplace, bottom of a staircase,  or even can be used at the end of a pew in a place of worship.

The Grant 1714 Tartan is a muted green and red based tartan with blue and black overchecks. Made here at our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

This historical tartan is derived from Richard Waitt's portraits of the Laird of Grant's Piper and Champion in 1714, both of which can be seen in the National Gallery in Edinburgh. This historic tartan is one of the earliest tartans on record predating the Battle of Culloden 1745 and the later 19th century tartans and is believed to be the only historic early 18th century tartan to have been re-created and registered by a Clan Chief. If you would like  to read more about this tartan, check out Our Journal.
