Skene Modern Lightweight Tartan is a classic green and blue-based tartan with a bold red check. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

The Skenes take their name from their Aberdeenshire lands which they occupied before the Scottish War of Independence. They got a charter from Robert the Bruce erecting their lands into a barony. The direct line expired in 1827, when the estates went to the 4th Earl of Fife, nephew of the last chief of Skene.
