Skene Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a bright blue and green-based tartan with shades of orange.

The Skenes take their name from their Aberdeenshire lands which they occupied before the Scottish War of Independence. They got a charter from Robert the Bruce erecting their lands into a barony. The direct line expired in 1827, when the estates went to the 4th Earl of Fife, nephew of the last chief of Skene.
