Our Scottish Borderland Weathered Tartan Bow Tie is a blue and olive based tartan with light blue, yellow and camel overchecks. This is custom made from our heavyweight (Selkirk 16oz.) tweed fabric. 

Match your bow tie to your pocket square or kilt, a traditional, but stylish approach to your formal wear. The neck strap fastens at the side with a latch and is fully adjustable and is made in our lightweight black (Reiver 10oz) fabric.

Our Selkirk Tweed is made from 100% pure new wool and, 50% of the wool is of Scottish origin. As we continue our environmental journey one of our aims is to increase our use of British sourced yarns for our fabrics and accessories. The Selkirk Tweed stock range comprises of nine classic tartans interpreted to reflect our natural environment and have been woven with a kilting selvedge. This quality is based on our premium Strome and is a beautiful addition to our stocked tartans.

The Scottish Borderland original tartan was designed by Alistair Buchan the previous owner of Locharron of Scotland in 1996, and was inspired by the colours of the Scottish Borders landscape, the blues and greys of the River Tweed running through the region and soft greens that blankets the hills from Peebles across to the east coast,  this tartan is a district tartan and therefore does not have a clan chief. Home to clans such as the Elliots and the Scotts, relationships between Border Clans would vary from uneasy alliance to open, deadly feud.
