Ancient Russell Medium Weight Tartan is a classic green and blue-based tartan with shades of orange.

This tartan has confused in the past as it is also known as Mitchell and Galbraith. The name would often describe an individual as having red hair or reddish complexion as it derives from the Old French 'rous-el', meaning red coloured. Several Scottish families bear this name spread all over the country, but not related.
