Ramsay Red Modern Lightweight Tartan is a red-based tartan with shades of black and purple. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

This family are of Anglo-Norman origin and were in the Lothians in the 12th century. They took a prominent part in Border warfare. George Ramsay of Dalhousie was created Lord Ramsay of Melrose in 1618, but shortly afterwards the title was changed to Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie. The 10th Earl, created Marquis in 1849, was Governor-General of India from 1847 to 1858.
