Napier Blue Ancient Lightweight Tartan is a classic blue-based tartan with white and black checks. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

This name was given to the court official in charge of the Royal Nappery or Linen. When Alexander Napier made his fortune in the wool trade, and financial dealings with James I, he obtained a charter to the lands of Merchiston and became Provost of Edinburgh in 1437.
