MacMillan Old Modern Lightweight Tartan is a dark green-based tartan with yellow and purple checks. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

There were MacMillans in Lochaber in the 12th century, but they later migrated to Lawers, in Perthshire. Clan MacMillan was in Knapdale, in Argyll, and Galloway. The Knapdale family gained importance and was considered the chief branch. Another prominent family was Dunmore. The Galloway MacMillans were noted Covenanters. The chiefship of the clan is now in the Laggalgarve branch.
