MacLaren Modern Lightweight Tartan is a traditional blue-based tartan with shades of green and colourful overchecks. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

The MacLarens are recorded as owning lands in Balquhidder in the 12th century. They also possessed the Island of Tiree. They fought at the battles of Sauchieburn, Flodden, and Pinkie and were loyal to the Royal Stewarts. They were a warlike clan and engaged in feuds with other clans, many of them died in the Battle of Culloden.
