MacArthur Modern tartan is a traditional dark green-based tartan with yellow overcheck. The MacArthur's formed the senior branch of Clan Campbell and is described as one of the oldest clans in Argyll. In the late 18th century, the chief of the clan died without an heir leaving the clan leaderless until the late 20th century. In 2002, James MacArthur became the first clan chief in around 230 years.
