Hay Ancient Tartan. Hay Ancient is a vibrant orange-based tartan with a green and yellow check centered within a white and black windowpane.Clan Hay has played an important role in the history and politics of Scotland with members found in most parts of Scotland. The clan descends from the Norman family of de la Haye and the progenitors of the Scottish clan were William II de Haya and his wife, Eva of Pitmilly.
