Boyd Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a muted orange and green based Strome tartan with shades of yellow, woven using 100% Scottish Wool. Strome tartan can be made into kilts, clothing, upholstery and craft-projects.

One likely derivation of the name of this Stome tartan is that it is taken from the Island of Bute, the Gaelic name of which is Bod. This, in the genitive becomes Bhoid.
