Lee Mathews LM X Stansborough Felted Wool Blanket

Made in New Zealand using historical looms from the 1890s, our Stansborough blankets and scarves are made from 100% Stansborough Grey wool.

The flock of Stansborough Greys consists of only 1200 sheep and is the only flock of its kind in the world, making their wool one of the rarest natural fibres. 

The sheep naturally have 3 shades of grey in their fleece, which are used undyed and in its natural state. To highlight the natural greys, they are never pre-bleached so each season the yarn has a unique undertone as the colour of the fleece changes from season to season. To add colour to our blankets and scarves, Stansborough have partnered with another NZ company that uses biodegradable dyes to colour yarn.

All of our pieces have been hand-felted to make them softer and more durable.
