The Deck Hat is the classic skull cap shape, with a 2in double-rolled brim so it can be worn short or long. Originally favored by sailors and fishermen, this style later became popular with mountaineers, who would wear them to protect their heads not only from the cold, but from loose stones dropping on them from above.
