Why red light at the back?

Visibility: Red is a primary colour that's easily distinguishable and associated with danger. Red lights are more effective at capturing attention than other colours.

Human Eye Sensitivity: The human eye is less sensitive to red light, which means that red lights are less likely to cause glare for drivers behind you.

It also tells the driver that you are their side of the road and should take care.
