Eka PINE DRESS

A gathered maxi dress featuring tie-up details on the sleeves, crafted from multicolor handblock-printed border and all-over placement print kota fabric. Comes with a separate handblock-printed striped cotton-silk lining.

Motifs inspired by the diverse floral elements of Amer were first translated into hand-drawn watercolor paintings. These designs were then meticulously adapted into hand-carved blocks, carefully considering the limitations of the medium. The play with negative-positive space, color separation, and outlining led to both singular motifs and intricate, multi-layered repeats. As many as 80 small and large wooden blocks were used to create pattern repeats for a single garment.
