I snuggle against him, enjoying the peace, until his voice rumbles through his chest. “Babygirl, are you ready to tell me what’s wrong? Daddy can’t help until you tell him.”

I don’t know why, but I hear myself telling him, but my words are muffled. “I almost f*cked someone else.”

He props me up so he can see my face. “What did you just say, Rose?”
