“RAUW !” EP. VAAG is a (post) punk / no wave outfit out of Kortrijk/Ghent, consisting of 4 friends with a long background in hardcore & punk and who have been playing in various bands (such as HAEMERS, HITCH, VVOVNDS, HESSIAN and SUPERGENIUS to name a few).They started the band from a common love for all things 80ies post punk, bleak UK Punk, French OI! and early new/no wave …VAAG is another band that springs from the fertile grounds of the Kortrijk aka “K-Town underground” scene that is based around long time running punk & DIY venue The Pit’s, that perfectly balances urgency and energy with subtle nuance and gloomy melodies. It’s post punk that most definitely puts punk first. Nothing too polished or smooth. No gimmicks. Instead they offer a whole lot of heart and a raised fist, by way of stirring guitars, pulsating rhythms and passionate vocals that hit exactly where they need to.VAAG took the time to hone their sound and play live extensively before recording and releasing music for the world to hear. Since they released their debut EP (‘Paniek!’), it’s clear to see they’re boldly coming for the postpunk throne.
