*DUTCH VERSION*

The Ghent architect Gaston Eysselinck (1907 - 1953) was a central figure in the Belgian architecture of the period between the wars.Only a limited number of his designs were built and these were mostly houses. Several of them are part of the modern heritage. His series of small and compact terraced houses were an innovative housing type. His tubular furniture from the early 1930 s, designed for his own home, was among the best in Europe. His Post Office building in Ostend (1945 -1952) is undoubtedly his masterpiece and one of the best works of 20th-century Belgian architecture. Eysselinck's archives are kept at theDesign Museum Gent Belgium.
