A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Martin is a renowned songwriter and serves as Depeche Mode's guitarist and keyboardist. He was instrumental in weaving together synthesized electronic sounds with the organic sounds of the guitar to create the unique sonic landscape that would become Depeche Mode’s signature sound.

Maple Body with Chambered Maple Center Block

Meeting at the intersection of hollow body and center block designs, the G6618-MG features a 2.375” deep laminated maple body with a chambered maple center block under the hood. The combination of the deep body and chambered maple center block delivers a unique mix of resonance and attack, with the center block providing snap and focus, and the deeper body bringing a level of airiness to the sound.

TV Jones TV-HT Pickups

The G6618-MG features TV Jones® TV-HT single-coil pickups. TV Jones’ take on the classic Gretsch Hilo’Tron™ pickup, the TV-HT pickups closely replicate the original Hilo’Tron™ recipe but with a slightly hotter bridge pickup, giving the sound more presence and power. These pickups deliver exceptional clarity with a tight, twangy bass response, crisp highs, and a touch of natural midrange, making them well suited for classic and modern sounds alike.
