Our BoronGreen tools combine the superior performance of boron steel, with sustainability credentials including 80% recycled steel and FSC®-certified white ash wood. 

Boron steel is stronger, more durable and tougher than a like-for-like carbon steel tool – without adding extra weight. It’s also better at holding an edge for longer.

This border spade is slightly smaller than our digging spade, making it ideal for digging in small or densely planted areas such as beds and borders. It’s also perfect for gardeners who prefer to work with a shorter, lighter-weight tool.

This spade has been load tested to 90kg, far in excess of the British standard of 55kg. The steel is 80% from recycled sources, believed to be a first in UK garden tools. 

A tough powder coating in a distinctive green helps protect from rust. Wide comfort treads at the top of the blade prevent discomfort for feet. A sharpened edge cuts easily through challenging ground.

The patent-pending thermo-treated handle in FSC®-certified white ash is designed for comfort, increased durability and moisture resistance. The handle has a comfortable 'Y' grip, double riveted at the base for strength. An extra-long, double-riveted strapped socket introduces strength and an element of flex at this key joint.
