Bohemia Design Hand Embroidered Basket Hollyhock

The Hollyhock has to be the quintessential cottage garden plant, and we love that it takes centre stage in our tiny patch of city centre garden, which we fill with pollinator friendly flowers. In the symbolism of the natural world, hollyhocks represent fertility, abundance and rebirth, with particular reference to female ambition. Thought to have magical properties, the hollyhock traditionally had many uses in home remedies and rituals.

Our original hollyhock illustration has been embroidered onto this unique, palm leaf bucket shaped basket bag by the skilful hand of women artisans in Morocco. A sustainable and eco-friendly handwoven tote basket, this design is perfect for gathering flowers, fruit and vegetables, foraging expeditions, home storage or shopping trips.

A combination of the time-honoured, traditional techniques of weaving and embroidery make these hand woven baskets a true celebration of slow craft.

Please note | Our palm leaf baskets are handwoven in the round and feature a 'step' on the rim where they are tied and finished. This is intentional and not a flaw, but rather a part of the design.
