Why Matelassé?The term "Matelassé refers to a double cloth woven on a jacquard loom, particularly in clothing, upholstery, and bedding. It is marked by raised designs created with a puckered or quilted appearance which is achieved by the interlacing of the threads during the weaving process. This not only adds to the overall aesthetic but provides additional warmth as well.
